I gave it a 4 because the game gets very boring if you play it for more than ten minutes everyday. Its a good game overall and i'm buying another one for my brother because he likes it. More of a training program than a game, "Flash Focus" probably wouldn't appeal much to game-oriented kids or those seeking a "shooter"-type experience. It's pitch is more intellectual than most, and is based on scientific research, the application of which through the program allows you to refine and enhance visual abilities that are useful in sports, reading, and many other kinds of functional activities.

Rather interactive and individualized, the program tests your eye age and then programs a variety of training activities to enhance differing visual skills; these activities vary from day to day, and you can chart your growth and progress in the areas; not bad!

The sports activities include baseball, football, boxing, soccer, table tennis, volleyball and more, and you can elect just t o go into those sub-programs without doing the training. She likes this game and doesn't fight me about playing it.

She often plays it without even being asked. Her visual perception has improved greatly. My whole family plays it at least occasionally.

It has helped all of us. The game allows for up to 4 people to keep an ongoing profile going. It tests your "eye age" and keeps track of your scores so you can see what areas you're improving in and what areas still need help. Some games are sports-related like football running with the ball and dodging tackles , soccer passing the ball to teamm ates or kicking goals , boxing making accurate hits and dodging opponents hits , table tennis hitting returns , baseball batting , and basketball seeing your teammates and remembering where they are.

Some games are more academic like remembering a number that flashes briefly on the screen, keeping track of an item covered by a box that is mixed around with other boxes, touching quickly appearing and moving boxes, counting and remembering how many of an object flashes on the screen and so on.

Scores are based on accuracy and difficulty so you have more accurate comparisons between your own scores and between players' scores. There are many activities and they all increase in difficulty. That is what makes this game good for all ages.

Anyone that can play a DS game can play this game and find at least some challenges. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to improve their hand-eye coordination or visual memory.
